Caminin yapımını, II. Abdülhamit döneminde dönemin devlet adamı Ahmet Fuat Paşa üstlenmiştir. Yapının mimarı ise dönemin ünlü sanat merkezi olan Yıldız Sarayı'nın baş mimarı olan Rıza Bey'dir.

Kesme taştan ve dikdörtgen planlıdır. Onarımlar ve 1986'da eklenen son cemaat yeri nedeniyle orijinal dokusu kısmen değişmiştir.
İlçedeki tek Osmanlı dönemi eseridir.
